In an industry where many businesses rely on the same technology and make similar claims - whether it’s offering the best customer service, superior liquidity providers, or the widest range of trading instruments - the brand often becomes the crucial differentiator. In such a crowded and competitive landscape, a strong, distinct brand can be the key to standing out.
With Cerus Markets, our goal was to create a brand that not only distinguished itself from the rest but also broke away from the traditional aesthetics and conventions of Forex and Crypto trading.
Where to Begin
Creation of a Forex brand
Given our comprehensive understanding of the Forex landscape, we began by delving deeper into Cerus Markets' vision for the next phase of its business. Our early discussions focused on understanding the type of brand that would effectively represent their goals moving forward.
The brief was clear: Cerus Markets wanted to look like an innovative company offering something different from the typical Forex trading platform. Their standout feature - allowing users to trade Crypto against traditional stocks - gave us a strong direction for positioning the brand and communicating their unique offering to potential customers.
We kicked off the process by assembling a team to work on both the messaging and tone of the brand, while our design team began exploring logo concepts. Simultaneously, they developed complementary colour palettes and font selections that would serve as the foundation of the brand identity.

Building a distinctive visual identity
During the creative process, we were inspired to subtly incorporate a reference to cryptocurrency within the Cerus Markets logo. Given its central role in their offering, this felt like the perfect way to reflect the innovation Cerus Markets brings to the industry.
So, with the logo completed, our attention shifted to designing the broader visual identity. After establishing a colour palette, we aimed to set Cerus Markets apart from the typical look and feel of the trading sector. Traditionally, many leading companies in the industry rely on a small selection of common colours. For Cerus Markets, we opted for a more distinct palette, blending muted base tones with vibrant accent colours to create a fresh yet professional aesthetic.

A brand built with AI imagery
It’s no secret that many trading companies rely on the same stock imagery across their websites, making it difficult to create a unique visual identity. So how did we ensure Cerus Markets would stand out? The answer was simple: AI.
With the advancements in AI, we were able to experiment with prompts and generate human imagery that surpassed the need for stock photos or costly, time-consuming photoshoots. As I mentioned in a recent blog, AI offers limitless potential for creating imagery, restricted only by imagination.
For Cerus Markets, we embraced this potential, creating a bespoke set of AI-generated images unique to the brand. These images were not only featured across the website but were also used consistently in marketing campaigns, exhibition stands, and other materials, ensuring a cohesive and innovative visual experience. Therefore, this freedom allowed us to produce imagery that broke away from the norms typically found on trading websites.
Last but not least
Website creation
When we finalised the brand’s messaging, tone, logo, and visual identity, the next step was designing and developing the Cerus Markets website.
We worked closely with the Cerus Markets marketing team throughout this process. They were a fantastic team to collaborate with, and our shared vision for the brand made it easier to bring the project to completion. With content provided by the Cerus Markets team, we designed and developed a comprehensive website optimised for both desktop and mobile use.
After completing the website, we finalised smaller tasks for launch and handed over the materials to the Cerus Markets team so they could continue creating new marketing content aligned with the brand’s identity.
This was a project we thoroughly enjoyed - not only for the creative challenges it presented but also for the opportunity to work with a great team. We look forward to collaborating with them again in the future.
