A Day Out at Silverstone GP
by Ben Bonello
With a busy few months at the office, it was time to step away from the desk and get some space to clear my head. Last week, I took some time out and headed down to Silverstone to get our Caterham race car out on the full GP circuit for a proper run.

We got incredibly lucky with the British weather. It turned out to be a brilliant day with clear skies, which gave us dry, consistent track conditions from the first session right through to the afternoon.
It was a busy track day, filled with serious motors like GT3s and McLarens. Our Caterham might be small in size compared to cars like that, but it held its own out there. Adding to the atmosphere, a Nürburgring 24-hour winner was also out on the track driving, which gave us a great benchmark to share the circuit with.

It was also a massive help to have our clients, Boss Racing, trackside with us in the pit lane. Having their experience on hand made a huge difference, as they took care of the mechanical setup and dialled the car in perfectly to handle the GP circuit.
The car ran faultlessly all day, allowing me to stay out on circuit and log over 50 laps across the event, which is a lot of miles around Silverstone, something like 170 + miles. Plus I also ended up walking away with a personal best lap time of 2.27.81.
A big thank you to the Boss Racing team for sorting the car out, keeping us running smoothly, and helping me get the absolute most out of the day.
